Green Edge Lighting, LLC was formed exclusively to promote sustainable energy reduction through the use of highly efficient Solid State Lighting (SSL) and specifically, lighting utilizing lamps built with Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs).
Lighting is not our only focus but we believe that it represents one area that can be adapted by commercial, government and consumer markets on a gradual basis without changes to critical infrastructures and, in most cases, no or minor changes to existing lighting fixtures. As Incandescent lamps replaced the gas light in the late 19th century and fluorescent light by virtue of its energy cost savings (not light quality) revolutionized general lighting in the early 20th century, LED Lighting will take its place as the next best thing. It will do this because we cannot produce the energy needed for our future needs without engaging in monumental capital expense and time we don’t have. LED lighting can save anywhere from 40% to 75% of the energy needed to illuminate a given space and it is as easy as changing a light bulb.
